This is my now page. The idea of "now" is to share things of what you' d tell a friend you hadn't seen in a year.
So what's on my mind right now?
The holidays are over, and I'm excited to be back working with my wonderful ballet students! It's always inspiring to see their progress and passion
for dance. However, I'm also closely following the discussions around a potential VAT on ballet courses in Germany, which could significantly impact
the accessibility of ballet education. It's something I'm deeply concerned about, as I believe in keeping ballet affordable for everyone.
More updates on this soon!.
My name is Olga Leibrandt and I'm a ballet teacher in Frankfurt, Germany specializing in the classical Russian Vaganova method. Developed by Agrippina Vaganova, a renowned Russian dancer, choreographer, and pedagogue, this method combines elements from the Italian, French, and Russian ballet schools and has become the foundation of training at the world's leading ballet academies.
I've been teaching ballet for 15 years, starting with Children's Ballet Frankfurt in 2009,
I opened 2019 the Ballet Studio Ost located directly at Osthafenplatz in Frankfurt am Main, where I employ two other ballet teachers.
As a ballet teacher, I love teaching children and teenagers. Seeing my students' progress and passion for dance grow over time is incredibly rewarding.
One of the things I focus on in my classes is making sure that each student feels comfortable and has confidence in their abilities.
I create a warm and supportive atmosphere in which students can express themselves and try new things without fear of judgment or criticism.
Overall, teaching children's or ballet classes is a joy and privilege, and I feel lucky to be able to share my love of dance with the next generation of young dancers.
A little bit about my background: I was born in Chisinau, Moldova, and trained at the Bolshoi Theater in Moscow for eight years.
After completing a three-year apprenticeship at the State Opera in Chisinau, I graduated from the Choreography Lyceum in my hometown.
In 2002, I moved to Germany and in 2009 I pursued my passion for ballet and completed my training in ballet pedagogy at Ballettseminare Stuttgart.
If you're interested in learning more about the Vaganova method or taking ballet classes with me, please don't hesitate to get in touch. I'm excited to share my love of ballet with you!
